Here's a few photos of the outer walls and surrounding town.
The next couple of photos are from the main castle. The first one is the water well from inside the kitchen and the second is of the castle from inside the inner wall.
There was all sorts of tunnels underneath the castle besides those built for modern military purposes. The photo below is from tunnels built in medieval times.
This was one of the rooms they showed us on the Operation Dynamo tour which recounted the evacuation in 1940 of Allied troops from the beaches at Dunkirk, France back to England. It reminds me of the set from the film, The Imitation Game.
And to finish just a few other photos I took of big guns and an overgrown bunker.
